Sustainable Products

Marvell products move, process, store and secure the world’s data. We play a unique role in enabling data infrastructure across a variety of end markets — data center and cloud, carrier, enterprise and automotive.

Governance
We are taking steps throughout the product life cycle to enhance the sustainability of our products and are focused on developing power-efficient semiconductor solutions. We also seek to ensure that our materials meet global regulatory, quality and safety standards, as well as our customers’ sustainability requirements, in order to continuously improve performance and to decrease the environmental impacts of our products.

The Role of Marvell Products in Society

We partner with our customers to meet the demanding performance, bandwidth, reliability and security requirements, while helping them to reduce energy use of their data infrastructure systems.

Optimizing Power and Performance Through Innovation

Marvell has been rapidly innovating ways to process increased data while optimizing power usage for over 25 years. Not only is this an environmental imperative, it is also a competitive differentiator, because energy represents a significant cost for our customers.

Sustainable Materials

Marvell uses a number of materials in its products for their electrical properties, but many materials are heavily regulated due to their adverse impact on human health and the environment. We seek to comply with all applicable laws. We perform environmental compliance due diligence during product design and development, and continue to monitor materials and make changes as needed.

Product Life Cycle Assessments

To better understand greenhouse gas emissions, energy and water hotspots during our product manufacturing process, we set a goal to conduct life cycle assessments (LCAs) of three key product lines. These targeted LCAs help us to identify and prioritize opportunities to decrease the environmental impacts of our products. Going forward, we are exploring ways to scale up product-level LCAs so we can gain deeper insight into embedded carbon in most of our product portfolio.
